Its a 5.0 V8 and an M5OD-R2 Manual Transmission out of a 1993 4x4 Bronco. Im gonna rebuild them both with an addition of GT40P heads off an Explorer, an A9L ECU out of a Fox Body and a Mustang HO Intake. Gonna keep the distributer though. Should be putting out a little over 200HP by the time Im done with it. This is gonna be a fun project
In other news, Jakes Sentra works again... Sorta.

Good job. Any way you can swing a different intake? A stock HO intake will be holding you back. Also, what cam are you thinking?

5 liters and all that stuff for a little over 200hp?
Its gotta be more than that.
Cool build tho.

Sadly not. The stock motor makes 185 and the one with the group heads makes 205. So it's not much power.

yea as much as ford used them they really are anemic till you add boost. but if you wanna do that just get a 4.6 cause they hold up better haha

Nice score.
Other than forced induction there should be some cheap up grades for that right? Like intake/exhuast, cams? Seems like there would be, what about fan delet and adding an electric? Free up 2 or 5 hp.

Keep in mind my truck weighs 3000 lbs. 200hp is alot for a 1.5 ton rwd vehicle

Im gonna go with a final gen tbird electric fan assembly (mainly for clearance), it has shorty headers on it stock so I may keep those and Im not sure but according to birddog it may have a high roller cam stock. Also upgrading to a high performance distributer because a distributer is actually tunable compared to a coil

i understand that. just be careful with the 5.0 they are good engines but to a point. They wont take a lot of power.
Its great your doing the swap though. There are a few by me with mustang 5.0's in them. And one with a turbo 2.3 and its quick

I expect maybe 205-215hp at the crank from this thing. And Im not looking to make any more than 250hp at any point down the road, there comes a point where its too much power to DD. I want It to be quick and sound good, I dont want crazy power
